“I hadn’t come for this. But after what I witnessed, how could I stand by and watch?”
Shadow of the Wolf
Betrayed by her fiancé and disillusioned with God, Anna Strayer seeks solace with relatives in Germany. When she witnesses Nazi brutality against the Jews, her faith shatters. How can a loving God allow such horrors?
Determined to make a difference, Anna joins her uncle’s underground ring to aid Jewish escapees. Danger is never far behind, especially when it takes the form of Kommissar Ricard von Heimer. Her relatives welcome the fearsome yet charismatic Gestapo officer as if there’s nothing to hide. But he’s a Nazi.
Yet Anna’s heart–which races whenever Ricard is near–might be the greatest traitor of all. To survive, Anna must find strength in the God she’s shunned. But learning to trust again–in God and mankind–is difficult while living in the shadow of a predatory dictator.
Shadow of the Wolf was first published in 2002 by Moutainview/Treble Heart Books, a small print-on-demand publisher which no longer exists. The book won ACFW’s Carol Award for “e-book” of the year as well as Treble Heart’s historical book of the year in 2002. It also received a four-star review from the Romantic Times magazine.
It took me two years of typing, dictating, more typing into Word since I no longer had a digital copy, then editing and deepening the story and characters, but this baby is finally ready. I cannot express how excited I am to be able to share this with you. Sign up for my newsletter to get your free copy.
